Bus Driver Appreciation Staff Spotlight

Andersonville is lucky to have two wonderful bus contractors to transport our children to school.  Longmire Bus line Inc. owned by Robert and Jill Longmire and Andersonville Bus Line owned by David and Traci Landreth.

Robert and Jill Longmire have owned their business since 1984. However, Robert has been driving school buses since before he was married to Jill, and some say since before he could officially drive a bus. They are residents of Andersonville and most people around our community have been taken to school by either Jill or Robert.  They are devoted supporters of our school, our children, and our families.  Longmire Bus line Incorporated owns bus 63 driven by Jill or Robert. They also own bus 45, 45 E and 37.

Bus 45 is driven by Tim Minch. Tim is married to Robin. She works as a bookkeeper for Clinton High School.  They have been married for 38 years.  Tim and Robin moved to Andersonville in 2008 from Dayton, Ohio.

Bus 45 E is driven by Mr. Ron.  Mr. Ron has been driving for 11 years. He is the proud grandpa of five grandsons. He likes being outside, boating, fishing, and camping.

Bus 37 driven by Mrs. Angela Oakes. Mrs. Angela began driving in 2011 and has lived in Andersonville since 2008. Fortunately, she has been able to drive the route that runs by her home.  Mrs. Angela’s children rode bus #37 when they were in school. Her students call her Mrs. Angela and her students love her.

David Landreth has owned his business since 2005. David grew up in the school bus business as his family owned Landreth Bus Lines since 1975.  David and his wife enjoy working with the youth group, boating, and UT football.  David also supports Andersonville and has donated bus trips to us on several occasions. Andersonville Bus Lines own bus 54 and 29.

Bus 54 is driven by Mrs. Athena Dison. She has been driving for a total of 11 years. She has been driving bus 54 for 6 of those years. Athena has two biological sons, one custodial son, and two custodial daughters for a total of five children.  She is one busy mom! Athena returned to school to further her education in 2010 and will graduate from Tusculum College in May with a B.S. in Organizational Management. She enjoys her church family and admits she attended AES at one time.

Mrs. Kym Smith drives bus 29. She is married to Greg and they have two children who attended AES, Danielle and Zane. She has driven the same bus route for 14 years.  She loves sports, the outdoors, family time, camping, and her job. Mrs. Kym always has a smile for her students.

AES appreciates all of our bus drivers. They do an AMAZING job keeping our students safe as they transport them to school.
